Karen Brol, Director of Sales
Karen brings nearly 30 years of event experience to the New England Outdoor Living Show. Karen fell in love with all things event related while acting on a whim, at a friend’s request and working at a Billy Joel concert. Shall we say that rest is history? Completely committed to working AND having fun, she left her cubicle and never looked back. She spent her first 10 years working for SMG, the World Leader in Venue Management. She began at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY, but was then hired as a member of the startup crew to open the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI. After leaving the Convention Center, she continued to monkey around and was appointed Admissions Manager at Roger Williams Park Zoo, RI’s largest tourist attraction. Although Karen loved her job at the Zoo, in a few years she had a couple of monkeys of her own, Zach and Dylan. In an effort to meet the changing needs of her family and her desire to continue in the event industry, she opened her own business, Brol Enterprises, Inc. Brol Enterprises, Inc. manages several large public and trade show events in RI. Karen has been honored to receive the Rose Award from the Providence/Warwick CVB. She lives in Bristol with her children and her husband Bob. When she is not working at an event, she will likely be found on a soccer field cheering her boys on.
